About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Production Editor to work with a wide range of HSS and STM journals and assist in disseminating exciting and ground-breaking academic work across the world. As a key part of the New York Production team, you will work with customers, vendors, and other internal departments to build and maintain relationships and ensure a quality product is delivered on schedule and to budget.  You will also have the opportunity to take part in innovative new projects to continue to further the Press’s ambitious publishing goals.

About You:


You will be a quick study, picking up new systems and workflows with ease.  You will have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, deliver quality material, and maintain positive working relationships.  You are able to work independently, prioritizing and monitoring various aspects of the publication process simultaneously.  Collaborative skills are also imperative, as you will work with other Production Editors as well as authors, editorial teams, vendors, and other departments.  You thrive in an environment where new challenges can present themselves every day.


Previous publishing experience is required, preferably in academic. High standard of computer literacy and knowledge of the industry is preferred.
