This position serves as the primary resource in managing intellectual property rights and policies for content produced by American Psychiatric Association Publishing and American Psychiatric Association. It is responsible for all aspects of rights management, including sales of reprints and e-prints, domestic and international licensing, translations, and permissions for reproduction of print and digital products. It also develops guidelines and oversees publishing rights for books, journals, and digital products and intervenes in cases of copyright and trademark infringement. Identifies prospects and coordinates promotion and sales campaigns for licensing of DSM-5 and other products. Additionally, this position reviews licensing contracts, ensures conformity with terms, and monitors payment. It manages the development and implementation of permissions policies and works with third party vendors to maximize revenue, coordinates rights staff and agents to accomplish association’s management and revenue objectives and identify new sales opportunities while developing and implementing strategy against counterfeit booksellers. This position is an important part of APA’s editorial and marketing program and is responsible for a major source of revenue.
