Editing and Production Coordinator


The Editing and Production Coordinator in the Journals Division of the University of Pennsylvania Press is responsible for managing all stages of work involved in the editing, design, production, and manufacture of Penn Press journals, from raw manuscript to final printed and online editions. This entails the preparation and monitoring of schedules and budgets, supervising freelances and vendors, maintaining working relations with editorial offices, and editing and designing promotional materials.

Qualifications: Experience in both Macintosh and PC environments with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software applications required.  College degree, plus two years' experience in production management in book or journal publishing. Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, correctly, and tactfully with authors, editors, vendors, and colleagues. Familiarity with style conventions of academic publishing desirable, as is experience with onscreen editing, online submission and review systems, and knowledge of digital content formatting, production, and delivery processes.
