Editorial, Design, and Production Manager


The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Editorial, Design, and Production Manager for the University of Nevada Press. This position plans and oversees the editing, design, composition, printing, binding, and delivery of all print and electronic books published by the University of Nevada Press. Other duties include, but are not limited to, being responsible for editing, design decisions, and oversight of freelance editors and designers, and the production of final files for print and e-books; serving as the liaison between authors and staff; ensuring editorial and design standards, adhering to production schedules, and managing projects within the allocated budget for approximately 20 titles per year; researching and implementing new technologies; and providing administrative support for the University of Nevada Press, which includes budgeting, implementing strategic initiatives, and managing contracts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience Or a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.

Relevant Experience: Editing, design, and production in a book publishing environment.

The University of Nevada Press publishing programs include, but are not limited to, scholarly and general-interest books about Nevada and the West, with specializations in Basque studies, Native American studies, Western history, environmental studies, mining history, gaming studies, and Western literature.
