Books for Understanding News

In October, with the academic year underway and access, costs, commercialization, and community engagement issues once again sparking debate, AAUP published a new Books for Understanding bibliography on higher education. The list includes close to 200 titles from more than 30 members, showcasing the wealth of relevant scholarship published by university presses. AAUP Marketing and Social Media Intern published an accompanying interview with a higher education editor on the Digital Digest blog.

A second list was published in late November on the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination. "Books for Understanding: JFK" highlights more than 50 university press titles on Kennedy's career and presidency, death, and legacy.
