2014 Annual Meeting

AAUP 2014 will be held June 22-24 at the Marriott New Orleans. The Program Committee meets in New York City this September to begin planning.

2013-2014 Committee Charges

Committee charges for the 2013-2014 year have been revised and updated; you can find them, along with the committee rosters, in the "About AAUP" section of our website. Note that charges include the development of pre-Annual Meeting professional development sessions for Scholarly Journals, Library Publishing, Marketing, and Design and Production; expanded member resources and education; and more.

Books for Understanding News

AAUP has published one new Books for Understanding bibliography over the summer. In May, "Boston" followed our April list on Chechnya, marking the bombing at the Boston marathon while also recognizing the host city for our 2013 Annual Meeting.

University Press Week 2013

As the Task Force works to build new toolkits for member presses, a new online gallery of selected works, and more, we encourage AAUP members and supporters to begin planning their own celebrations. Why is it important to dedicate a week to recognizing the contributions of mission-driven scholalrly publishers to the academy, culture, and communities around the globe? In the words of Senator Sherrod Brown, "because scholars and students, professors and public servants, citizens and communities rely on university presses to connect with one another."
