Message from the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) and Its Collection Development Evaluation Section (CODES)

Each year AASL and the Association of American University Presses (AAUP) provide librarians with valuable recommendations of the best university press books for general users. The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) and its Collection Development and Evaluation Section (CODES) are thrilled to be able to join with AAUP and congratulate them on the publication of the 25th Anniversary Edition of University Press Books for Public and Secondary School Libraries.

As a division of the American Library Association, RUSA represents those working in the fields of reference, collection development, readers' advisory and resource sharing. RUSA is proud to connect libraries with the information sources, services, and collection materials they need to move libraries forward. A robust and relevant collection is key to the success of any library and collection development is one of the most important roles in the field of librarianship. The AAUP recommendations allow librarians to build strong collections and meet the needs of the users with the best resources possible from university presses.

RUSA/CODES thanks AASL and the University Presses Book Selection Committee for their work and urge all librarians to use this valuable resource.
