Meeting Accessibility Information

The Association of University Presses is committed to creating inclusive spaces at the Annual Meeting.

Individuals who need accommodations to participate in the meeting should tick “I need accommodations to fully participate in the meeting” when registering for the meeting, and provide requested details.

Dates to Remember

In order for the Association to provide non-dietary accommodations, please notify the Central Office or use the registration process by May 1, 2019.

Dietary requests should be made via the online registration process by June 1, 2019.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Attendees who are deaf or are hard of hearing should contact the Central Office at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible, but no later than May 1, 2019, to discuss accommodations.

The Association will provide interpreters and fund up to 16 hours of interpreting service per attendee for those who need sign language interpreters.

Vision Impairments

Gender Neutral Bathrooms

The bathrooms adjacent to Ontario Ballroom West on level 3 of the meeting space will be converted to gender neutral from June 11-13, 2019.

Children

The Association does not offer childcare services at the meeting. Association staff are happy to help attendees find referrals to local childcare. Contact us by May 1, 2019, if you think you will need childcare.

Babies and toddlers may be present in the event spaces at the Marriott in the company of their caregivers. Additional meal charges will apply for caregivers accompanying attendees with children and children over 5 attending group meals. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Mothers are welcome to breastfeed anywhere at anytime. Caregivers who may need additional resources (secluded location, pump and/or milk storage) should notify Association staff by May 1, 2019, so that we can arrange accommodations.

Dietary Needs

Full meeting registration includes an opening reception and plated dinner on June 11, and buffet breakfasts, plated lunches, and coffee breaks on June 12 and 13. Attendees should indicate special meal requests (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, dairy-free, etc.) during the registration process. Attendees should also specify severe food allergies. Dietary requests made after June 1, 2019, may not be able to be accommodated.
