Special Displays at AAUP 2017

Mellon Grant Updates

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation invests significant resources in building the capacity of scholarly publishing and university presses to innovate and creatively meet the opportunities new digital technologies and networks offer. Over the past few years, several member presses received funding for innovative initiatives. Posters detailing updates on these projects will be on display in Austin.

2017 PROSE Awards

University press winners of the 2017 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) will be on display and the Annual Meeting University presses received 43 of the 58 awards presented. All of the top Awards for Excellence and the R.R. Hawkins Award went to university presses.

The 2018 PROSE Awards entry period will open in August 2017, and the deadline to enter is Wednesday, November 1, 2017. AAUP Members are encouraged to enter (AAUP members who are not members of PSP are eligible to enter.) Visit for more information.

AAUP Book, Jacket, and Journal Show

Selected entries from the 2017 show will be on display in the JW Grand Ballroom Foyer throughout the meeting. A catalog of selected books and journals will be available free of charge to meeting registrants. Special thanks go to Friesens for the paper, printing, and binding of the 2017 Show Catalog. Additional thanks go to Phoenix Color and Sterling Pierce for providing the Call for Entries and the award certificates.
